Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. The unit supports interventional cardiology patients including post-catheterization, post-ablation, post-pacemakers, and EP lab transfers.

The RN will provide age-appropriate, culturally sensitive care, assume responsibility for the plan of care, and collaborate with a specialized team to deliver quality outcomes. Active MA RN license and BLS required.

Qualifications

• Active MA RN license required.
• Current American Heart Association CPR certification required.
• Education: ADN required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide care based on physical, psychosocial, cultural, educational, spiritual, safety, and age-appropriate considerations.
• Own the patient’s plan of care and be accountable for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Provide direct patient care and collaborate with healthcare team members.
• Maintain current nursing knowledge and comply with regulatory standards; licensed in MA as RN.

Baystate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Progressive Care Unit at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, Massachusetts. The Cardiac Progressive Care Unit is part of the Cardiac Interventional Unit, which is a 33-bed unit consisting of 12 Progressive Care Unit beds and 21 Acute Care beds.This unit treats interventional cardiology patients with cases such as post-cardiac catheters, post-cardiac ablation, post-pacemakers, and patients coming from the EP lab.

The Registered Nurse role offers the opportunity for meaningful impact while supporting patients, serving the community and collaborating with a specialized team.

The Registered Nurse Will:

• Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide expected standards of care based on physical, psychosocial, cultural, educational spiritual, safety, and age-appropriate considerations of patients.
• Assumes responsibility for the patient’s plan of care and is held accountable for decisions specific to the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.
• Provides care directly to patients and in collaboration with other healthcare team members.
• Maintains a current level of knowledge and skill with technical procedures as defined by the nursing specialty organization, complies with all regulations and standards of regulatory and accrediting bodies, and is currently licensed in the state of Massachusetts as a registered nurse.
