The Nurse Transition to Practice program supports new to CCU nurses through hands-on training, mentorship, and simulations to build confidence and clinical skills for complex cardiac care.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
• BSN or MSN preferred
• Virginia RN license or compact/multi-state eligible
• BLS within 90 days of hire; ACLS within 1 year of hire
• ICU experience or 1 year of intermediate/stepdown care with cardiac knowledge or 2 years of Medical/Surgical/PCU/ED experience

The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.**Cardiac ICU (CICU):**The **Cardiac ICU (CICU)** provides high-acuity, specialized care for patients with complex cardiovascular conditions, including severe heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, cardiac arrest, STEMI, and pre- and post-heart transplant management.
