Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of one year RN experience, with PCU/ICU/ED preferred.
• Current RN license in applicable state and BLS certification.
• ACLS & PALS certifications required within one year of hire.
• Excellent communication, critical thinking and teamwork skills.
• Adaptable to unpredictable situations and able to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

Role Overview:

The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse provides comprehensive patient care within a multidisciplinary team, focusing on patients undergoing cardiovascular, cerebral, and peripheral vascular procedures. This includes pre, intra, and post-procedure assessments, education, and medication administration, following protocols and guidelines. The nurse monitors vital signs, manages moderate sedation, and responds to changes in patient status, ensuring safety and comfort. They coordinate care, facilitate smooth transitions between departments, and serve as a patient advocate, communicating effectively with patients, families, and physicians.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform age-specific care for diverse patient populations, from infants to geriatrics.
• Screen patients, prepare them for procedures, and provide education.
• Administer medications and sedation as per protocols and guidelines.
• Monitor patient status during and after procedures, ensuring safety and recovery.
• Coordinate post-procedure care, discharge planning, and documentation.
