Saint Joseph Health System (Indiana) is seeking an Endoscopy RN for full-time Day Shift. The role involves preparing patients, administering sedation under supervision, monitoring vitals, and assisting with endoscopic procedures.

A sign-on bonus of up to $8,700 is offered along with comprehensive benefits. Requirements include graduation from an accredited RN program, Indiana RN license, CPR on hire or within 60 days, and at least 6 months of cardiac or critical care nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures and obtain informed consent.
• Administer sedatives and analgesics under physician supervision.
• Monitor vital signs and sedation levels during procedures.
• Assist physicians with endoscopic equipment and maintain sterile fields.
• Collect and label tissue samples for pathology.
• Document care in EMR and coordinate post-procedure instructions.
• Educate patients and families and collaborate on care plans.

Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description: 8 hour shifts

Up to $8,700.00 SO Bonus

Full-Time Day Shift - 5 - 8 Hour Shifts

Endo RN Details/Duties:

• Prepare patients for both therapeutic and screening endoscopic procedures by explaining the process and obtaining informed consent.
• Administer sedatives, pain medications, and local anesthetics under physician supervision.
• Monitor patient vital signs and sedation levels throughout procedures.
• Assist physicians during procedures by handling endoscopic equipment and maintaining a clean field.
• Collect and label tissue samples for laboratory analysis.
• Provide post-procedure care, including monitoring for complications and educating patients and families.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain endoscopic equipment according to infection control protocols.
• Document patient care and procedure details accurately in electronic medical records (EMR).
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Stay current with advancements in endoscopic technology and best practices through continuing education.
