Job summary

Avera 7th Avenue Clinic is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver direct nursing care and coordinate patient services. You will administer medications, assist providers during procedures, and ensure a smooth patient flow within a multidisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates are licensed RNs with strong communication skills, able to evaluate patient conditions, educate families, and maintain accurate charts. A sign-on bonus may be available for eligible hires and a daytime schedule is offered.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse with an active state license.
• Clinic/nursing experience is preferred.
• Strong communication skills with patients and team.
• Must meet visual acuity and hearing requirements to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Performs general nursing care to patients.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
• Coordinates patient care activities for the clinic.
• Prepares equipment and assists provider during procedures, treatments, examinations, and testing.
• Observes, records, and reports patient’s condition and reactions to drugs and treatments to provider.
• Oversees appointment scheduling and ensures priority is given in emergencies.
• Maintains timely flow of patients and greets them for examination.
• Screens patients for information including health history, vitals, and nursing assessment.
• Documents information in patient charts and educates patients about processes, medications, nutrition, and wellness.

What you will do

• Performs general nursing care to patients.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
• Coordinates the patient care activities for the clinic.
• Prepares equipment and assists provider during procedures, treatments, examinations, and testing of patients.
• Observes, records, and reports patient’s condition and reactions to drugs and treatments to provider.
• Oversees appointment scheduling and ensures preferences are given to patients in emergency situations.
• Maintains timely flow of patients.
• Greets patients and prepares them for physical examination.
• Screens patients for appropriate information including obtaining the health history, taking vitals, and conducting a nursing assessment.
• Documents obtained information in patient chart.
• Instructs patient in collection of samples and tests.
• Responds to patient phone calls in a timely manner with appropriate input from the physician.
• Educates patients and families about diagnostic process, medications, nutrition, and maintenance of health and wellness.
• Suggests solutions to patient care crisis problems and complaints.
• Maintains exam rooms with necessary supplies and materials.
• Ensures cleanliness.
• Prepares list of medical supplies needed.
• Assures appropriate labeling of pathology specimens according to lab protocol as needed.
• Performs quality control and maintains records on all lab testing.
