Indiana University Health is seeking passionate nurses to join Ball Memorial’s adult surgical unit. This 25-bed unit focuses on care for patients recovering from general, urological, and bariatric surgeries with evidence-based practice and strong teamwork.

We offer a $30,000 sign-on bonus for both part-time and full-time roles, referral eligibility, and a culture that supports professional growth, learning, and clinical expertise within Indiana's largest health system.

Qualifications

• Requires ASN; BSN preferred.
• Active RN license in Indiana or an NLC license.
• Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty.

Responsibilities

• Care for post-operative surgical patients from admission to discharge.
• Care for CVAD and PICC lines.
• Wound VAC and wound care.
• Foley insertion and care of CBI (continuous bladder irrigation).
• Nasogastric tube insertion and maintenance.

Ball Memorial’s adult surgical unit is a 25-bed unit specialises in the care of patients who are recovering from different surgeries (general, urological, bariatric) and medical overflow. Comprehensive Care putting the patient and their family first; addressing all elements of care medical, emotional, and spiritual. Driven by evidence-based practice to provide up to date care and pushing the field of nursing forward. Unit uses a team nursing model approach to caring for our diverse patient population

Nursing skills gained on this unit:

• Care of the surgical patient post-operative to discharge.
• Care of CVAD (central veinous access device) and PICC lines
• Wound vac and wound care
• Foley insertion and care of CBI (continuous bladder irrigation)
• nasogastric tube insertion and maintenance

Qualifications

• Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
