Job summary

Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC is seeking an Adult Acute Care RN for Med/Surg 3 to care for adult medical-surgical patients with a broad range of acute and chronic conditions. This fast-paced unit offers opportunities to strengthen clinical judgment and collaborate with an experienced interdisciplinary team.

Shift is 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, three shifts per week. Education required: BSN preferred; active RN licensure in the state; one year of relevant experience

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
• Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
• One year relevant experience, preferred.
• If your RN license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more, complete a Board approved refresher course prior to reactivating license.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care for adult acute-care patients with diverse medical diagnoses
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and specialized treatments safely and effectively
• Develop and strengthen clinical skills including wound care, IV insertion and management, blood specimen collection, and gastrostomy tube management
• Provide care for patients with stable tracheostomies

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
• Experience:One year relevant experience, preferred.
• Licensure/certification/registration: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
