Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Beaumont, TX is seeking a competent Nurse to practice independently in a similar clinical setting, providing routine and complex care with on-going planning and contingencies. You will delegate tasks when appropriate to ensure safe, effective patient care.

The role emphasizes adherence to ANA standards, documentation, and patient education, with a per diem work arrangement and a 7AM–7PM shift. A BSN is preferred, and licensure and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS required.
• RN License in state of employment or compact.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Administer medications and treatments; monitor for side-effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Educate patients, family members and/or care givers; identify issues and resources.

Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation.

• Using the appropriate protocol, administers medications and treatments; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.

• Assess learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers; identify issues and resources.
