Job summary

Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury, NC seeks an RN for its A2A Post Surgical unit. The 17-bed unit cares for post-operative and trauma patients, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6.

The RN provides post-operative care, manages pain, monitors for infections, and coordinates with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe recovery. Eligible candidates have a 4-year nursing degree, active RN licensure, and at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing required; RN license active
• One year relevant experience preferred
• Licensure: current RN licensure in appropriate state

• Provide comprehensive post-surgical nursing care and monitor progress.

This 17-bed unit provides care for a diverse patient population, including those recovering from elective surgeries, trauma, and other surgical procedures, with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6. RNs provide comprehensive post-operative care, monitor for complications such as wound infections, manage pain and recovery needs, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team. What You'll Do

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to post-surgical, trauma, and recovering patients while monitoring their progress and overall condition.
• Assess patients, administer medications and treatments, manage pain, and monitor for post-operative complications such as infections or changes in condition.
• Collaborate with physicians, CNAs, therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Support patients and families throughout their recovery, including providing compassionate care to patients with complex needs and those transitioning to hospice or end-of-life care.

What We're Looking For

• Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
• Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
