Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Tyler, TX seeks a competent Registered Nurse to practice in the same or similar clinical setting. The nurse will provide routine and complex care, with ability to manage long-range goals, and delegate to other care providers to help manage clinical situations.

The role requires BLS, and an RN license in the state of employment or under a compact. A BSN is preferred, with 1 year of related nursing experience preferred. Shift: 6PM–6AM, 12-hour, Full Time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS required; RN license in state of employment or compact.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patient and families.
• Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocol; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness of treatment.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers; identifies issues and resources.

Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to on long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation.

• Using the appropriate protocol, administers medications and treatments; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.

• Assess learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers; identify issues and resources.
