Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Lake Charles, LA is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in a fast-paced clinical setting. The role emphasizes independent practice, adherence to ANA standards, and coordination with care teams.

You will administer medications, perform nursing assessments, document care, and educate patients and families. A BSN is preferred; BLS and RN license in-state or compact are required. Shifts: 3 days of 12 hours, full time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.

• Administers medications and treatments using the appropriate protocol; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers; identifies issues and resources.

Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to on long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation.
