Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Winnsboro, TX seeks a compassionate registered nurse for night shift (7PM–7AM) in a clinical setting. You will provide independent nursing care, document care, educate patients and families, and collaborate with the care team to manage contingencies.

BSN preferred; RN license in Texas or compact, and BLS required. One year of related experience preferred. Full-time, on-site position offering full benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1 year of nursing experience preferred.
• BLS required; RN license in TX or compact.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice.
• Using the appropriate protocol, administers medications and treatments; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assess learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers; identify issues and resources.

Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to on long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation.
