Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Current ACLS certification is required.
• PALS is preferred on hire but must be obtained within 30 days.
• Texas RN license or eligibility to practice in Texas.
• At least 12 months of RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital standards, promoting a cooperative work environment using communication and teamwork.
• Assumes responsibility for nursing components of patient/family education.
• Communicates with the team, patients, and families and confirms understanding.
• Maintains a safe, therapeutic environment for patients, staff and facility.
• Ensures complete, accurate, and timely written patient information.
• Delivers medication and IV administration safely and accurately.
• Shows personal accountability for performance and professional growth.
• Uses the nursing process to ensure quality patient care throughout care episodes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Current license to practice nursing in Texas

Current Basic Life Support Certification

Current ACLS Certification

PALS Required within 30 days

Work experience: 12 months of RN experience
