Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville seeks an Operating Room Registered Nurse to circulate and coordinate the surgical team, ensuring optimal perioperative care. The role may require scrubbing and calls for strong communication and teamwork in a high-tech environment.

The department operates 34 ORs with advanced equipment; eligibility for TN sponsorship; on-call requirements with variable hours; RN license and BLS required; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in General Surgery or Transplant is strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

• Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.

Responsibilities

The RN in the Operating Room circulates and coordinates the surgical team in all aspects of OR activities, providing for optimum perioperative nursing care to patients. The OR RN may be asked to scrub as needed. Functions as the patient's advocate.

Our state-of-the-art hospital in Jacksonville includes 34 operating rooms that include an IMRI OR suite and a dedicated endovascular OR suite. We use the best modern equipment and advanced technologies to create an environment that merges the art of healing with the science of medicine.

This role is eligible for TN sponsorship. Successful sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of the VisaScreen or equivalent certification.

Qualifications

All associate degree or diploma registered nurses hired into the Department of Nursing with a RN start date after April 1, 2020, must provide documented evidence of program completion of their baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program within 5 years from the last day of the month of their RN start date.

All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with a RN start date prior to April 1, 2020 must provide documented evidence of program completion of a baccalaureate degree in nursing program as stipulated by the degree requirement program in place at time of hire.

Qualified applicants must live within a reasonable driving distance to campus to meet 45-minute on-call requirement

• Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
• Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
• Additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
