Job summary

Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide direct and indirect patient care in an outpatient pediatric practice. You will supervise LPNs and medical staff, coordinate multidisciplinary care, administer medications, perform triage and vaccinations, support the physician, and monitor vitals while documenting patient histories.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience, preferably in ambulatory/outpatient pediatric care.
  • NYS RN Registration and NYS Child Abuse Certification required.
  • PALS certification preferred; BLS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise care provided by LPNs and medical/office staff.
  • Function as a key member of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Administer medications/injections and provide education to patients and families.
  • Coordinate care with other members of the healthcare team.
  • Provide clinical care and oversight for vaccine administration and triage.

Description

As an RN, you will provide direct and indirect patient care in an outpatient practice. Provides care that reflects initiative, flexibility, and responsibility indicative of professional expectation with minimum supervision. Provide high-quality patient care, ensuring safety and integrating the patient’s cultural background into care. Perform clinical and administrative functions, including patient screenings, triage, and implementing various health interventions.

Responsibilities and Duties Include:

  • Supervise care provided by LPNs and medical/office assistants as applicable.
  • Function as a key member of an interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Administer medications/injections and provide education to patients and families.
  • Coordinate care with other members of the healthcare team.
  • Provide clinical care and oversight for vaccine administration, point-of-care testing, patient triage.
  • Performs and documents effective phone and live triage of patients.
  • Assisting the physician in treatments and procedures
  • Monitoring of patient's vital signs, patient intake, and recording patient history
  • Identifies patient goals, communicates, and collaborates with clinical team to support patient care plan
  • Cross-cover multiple practices as needed
  • Assisting with overseeing patient flow
  • Assist in prior authorizations for clinical and pharmacy orders
