Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for 3 East to plan, deliver, and manage direct patient care using the nursing process. This non-exempt position supports the nursing team in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The evening shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM), 24 hours per week, includes holiday and weekend rotation. A Massachusetts RN license and BLS are required; BSN is preferred. Signing bonus may be available.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS is required for every RN; ACLS certifications as required by unit.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for patient care from admission to discharge.
• Performs patient assessment and reassessment per standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates individual care plans including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluates nursing care within the unit.
• Delegates appropriately according to competency.

Responsible for the planning, delivery and management of direct patient care utilizing the nursing process and adhering to the standards of nursing practice.

Major Responsibilities:

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for the delivery and management of patient's care from Admission to Discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population.
• Performs patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluate nursing care within assigned clinical setting.
• Delegates appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level.

Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:

Required:

• Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS is a requirement for every RN unless advance cardiac life support (ACLS) certification is current, in addition to any unit specific certifications and competencies.

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing highly preferred.

• Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.
