Registered Nurse (RN) – Ambulatory Surgery Clinic

Role Overview

The Registered Nurse will play a key role in the daily clinical and operational oversight of a small ambulatory surgery clinic. This position blends direct patient care with administrative and leadership responsibilities and serves as the primary RN supporting clinic operations. The RN will ensure high standards of patient safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient workflow while collaborating closely with providers and support staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain clinical procedures to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
• Coordinate pre-operative, admission, and discharge processes
• Provide hands-on nursing care during procedure days, including patient preparation and recovery
• Oversee daily clinic operations and serve as a clinical resource for staff
• Supervise and support Medical Assistants and scheduling staff
• Monitor patient status and communicate changes to appropriate team members
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, clinic policies, and safety protocols, including:
• Medication and controlled substance management
• Infection control and patient confidentiality
• CPR, ACLS, emergency response, and quality improvement initiatives
• Partner with HR on hiring, training, and performance management
• Complete administrative and documentation responsibilities on non-procedure days
• Support infusion services as needed (if experienced)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in MI
• Experience in an ambulatory surgery clinic setting
• Current CPR and ACLS certifications

Preferred Qualifications

Schedule

• Monday–Friday (Friday is a half day)
• Start time between 7:00–7:30 AM, depending on first scheduled procedure
• Current schedule is four 10-hour shifts plus a half day on Friday
