Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 2W Progressive Care Unit on the night shift (7:00 pm–7:30 am). This full-time role focuses on high-quality patient care in a progressive care setting.

Responsibilities include hourly rounding for pain, position, personal needs; applying the nursing process; and providing direct and indirect patient care to ensure safe discharge planning. Required: MI nursing license, BLS, ACLS within 6 months, 1 year Med/Surg or CCU/LPN

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year Med/Surg or CCU/critical care RN or related experience
• Strong communication and customer service skills a must

Daily Work Times: 7:00 pm - 7:30 am
Shift: Nights
Scheduled Bi-Weekly Hours: 72

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Performs purposeful hourly rounding including: Pain, Position, Personal needs and Possessions

2. Applies the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and discharge needs of patient/family

3. Provides professional direct and indirect patient care in the progressive care setting

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Must possess valid State of Michigan Nursing License
• BLS Certified
• ACLS certified within 6 months of hire
• Minimum one year previous experience as a Medical/Surgical or critical care RN or LPN, OR other Medical Center related experience (Student Nurse Tech, Nurse Aide, Unit Clerk, etc.)
• Possesses excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate and present self to patient, visitors, other staff and physicians verbally and in writing in courteous, confident and professional manner

Preferred:

• Previous clinical experience in Critical Care Unit (ICU, CCU, ER, OR)
• BSN in Nursing
• Completed and certified (up to date) in Basic Arrhythmia
