University of Miami is seeking a Registered Nurse 2 in Oncology to deliver patient-centered care on-site in Miami, FL. The role requires overseeing nursing staff, administering treatments, and ensuring safety and quality standards across the unit.

Responsibilities include assessments, care planning, discharge planning, precepting staff, and contributing to policy development. BSN preferred; ASN with plan to complete BSN within two years is acceptable. ACLS/BLS required.

The incumbent oversees nurses and allied health staff in their daily practice. **CORE JOB FUNCTIONS*** Completes assessments and documents patient interactions and general observations, per unit standards, including the need for age and cultural considerations, care management and teaching; makes necessary referrals.* Demonstrates advanced level of competency in the area of practice* Administers and maintains accurate records related to medications and treatments as per regulatory bodies, policies and procedures.* Reassesses and documents the effectiveness of intervention as per guidelines and protocols; evaluates diagnosis/ problems on the plan of care based on the patient’s status.* Communicates plan of care clearly in an effective and timely manner to patient, family and the appropriate team members.* Participates in the development of policies, procedures, protocols and standards of care.; examines and questions treatment to determine if they are within best practices.* Represents nurses by actively participating in committees and task forces.* Begins discharge planning upon admission; uses available resources to assist in preparing for discharge.
