Job summary

Manchester Memorial Hospital, Inc. seeks a registered nurse to provide direct and indirect patient-centered care on the night shift in the Greater Hartford area.

The role requires collaborative work with an interdisciplinary team and timely communication of patient condition changes. Responsibilities include age-appropriate care across the life span, promoting professional nursing practice, and reporting to the Clinical Nurse Manager.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with CT RN licensure.
• Must hold BCLS and ACLS certifications on hire or within orientation period.
• Graduate Nurses must pass NCLEX within 90 days of graduation.
• Must communicate effectively in English and have basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality direct and indirect patient-centered care using the nursing process.
• Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary team and communicate changes in condition promptly.
• Demonstrate age-appropriate care across life span and support professional nursing practice.
• Report to Clinical Nurse Manager and participate in professional development.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Utilizing the nursing process, provides high quality direct and indirect patient –centered care. Coordinates patient care by working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team. Communicates, as appropriate, the patient's clinical condition, responding quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to the patient population served. Promotes the profession of nursing and professional practice through collegial support and interactions. Reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with a current licensure in the State of Connecticut.


• Must have certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support upon hire or receive certification within the new employee introductory orientation period and maintain clinical competency during employment.


• Graduate Nurses: Must pass NCLEX 90 days from graduation date.


• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally as well as in writing using the English language.


• Possesses basic computer skills.
