SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn seeks a full-time Registered Nurse 1, Operating Room to join the Department of Perioperative Services. The role provides direct nursing care in the OR, follows treatment plans, administers medications, and supports a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate holds NYS RN license; BSN preferred with 1 year of clinical experience; 55 B/C eligible considered.

The Department of Perioperative Services at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse 1, Operating Room.

Distinguishing Characteristics

The Registered Nurse 1 (T&RC) is a full performance level nurse position and possesses a license as a registered professional nurse in New York State; under the general direction of a higher level registered nurse or licensed health care provider, independently provides direct nursing care to individuals in accordance with Article 139 of the Education Law; supervises nursing care activities; and provides clinical supervision and training to Graduate Nurses (T&RC), Teaching & Research Center Licensed Practical Nurses, and direct care staff.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
• 1 year of relevant clinical experience.
