Job summary

Montana State Hospital, the state\'s only public psychiatric hospital, invites applications for a Registered Nurse to join its dedicated team under DPHHS. The RN will perform assessments, planning, interventions, and evaluation for adults with serious mental illness within a therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited college or university in nursing.
  • Must have an active, unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in Montana, or ability to become licensed there.

  • Strong knowledge of patients’ rights regarding medical treatment.
  • Ability to plan and implement appropriate nursing care interventions.

A Registered Nurse (RN) at Montana State Hospital utilizes a “Team Nursing” approach to provide care and support to clients within the framework of a therapeutic environment. This position performs nursing assessment, planning, interventions, and evaluation for adult clients with serious mental illness in the facility. Responsibilities include assigning work and providing direction and training to subordinate nursing personnel.
