Job Summary: Under general supervision, provides professional nursing services on an as-needed basis to support Behavioral Health, Substance Use Disorder, Crisis Services, Residential Services, and other assigned programs. Performs nursing assessments, medication administration, treatment support, health education, and consumer monitoring activities. Provides coverage for staffing needs, vacancies, leave coverage, operational demands, emergencies, and special assignments while promoting quality care and compliance with accepted nursing standards and regulatory requirements.Essential Functions:Analyzes assessment and screening data to determine appropriate treatment and service recommendations.Performs comprehensive nursing assessments.Uses appropriate interview techniques to obtain health, behavioral health, and substance use histories.Performs head-to-toe physical examinations and visual assessments.Documents clinical information accurately, completely, and timely.Administers medications and vaccines safely and accurately in accordance with physician orders and agency policies.Provides treatments and preventative care according to physician orders and accepted nursing standards of practice.Assists in determining appropriate levels of care based on physician, nursing, and clinical input.Obtains laboratory specimens and performs venipuncture procedures as required.Monitors, records, and reports symptoms and changes in consumer conditions.Communicates with consumers in a respectful, professional, and compassionate manner.Educates consumers and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, disease processes, and wellness practices.Accurately transcribes and implements physician orders.Maintains accurate tracking systems, logs, reports, and documentation.Maintains accurate and detailed clinical records.Facilitates referrals to community resources and services when appropriate.Maintains safety and security within assigned treatment areas.Reports abnormalities, incidents, and changes in consumer status promptly.Participates as a member of interdisciplinary treatment teamsSupports consumer-centered and recovery-oriented care.Provides nursing coverage for assigned programs, locations, weekends, holidays, and emergency staffing situations as needed.Performs related duties as assigned.Primary Responsibilities, but not limited to:Direct nursing services and healthcare support.Consumer health assessments and monitoring.Medication administration and treatment implementation.Clinical documentation and record maintenance.Consumer and family education.Interdisciplinary treatment planning participation.Compliance with nursing standards and regulatory requirements.Staffing coverage and nursing support across assigned service areas.Supervisory Responsibilities:None. PRN nursing staff may provide task-specific guidance to support personnel as appropriate during assigned shifts.Work Environment:This position operates in behavioral health, substance use disorder, outpatient, residential, crisis stabilization, and community healthcare settings. The role routinely utilizes computers, telephones, electronic health record systems, medical equipment, and standard office equipment. Assignment locations may vary based upon operational needs. Travel between Gateway locations may be required.Required Education & Experience:Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university; ORAssociate Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.Current unrestricted Georgia Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license.Related professional nursing experience preferred.Current CPR/BLS certification preferred.Valid Georgia driver's license with an acceptable driving record.Must successfully pass required criminal background screening and pre-employment drug testing.Upon appointment to the position, the employee assumes responsibility for meeting and maintaining all minimum qualification requirements, including applicable certifications, licenses, continuing education, competency validations, and mandatory annual or recurrent training.
