Job summary

Boca Recovery Center is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse in Pompano, Florida, to manage infection control, perform patient assessments, and handle medical documentation. The role supports clients throughout their recovery journey, while ensuring high standards of care and compliance.

The Staff Nurse will also facilitate health-related group sessions and collaborate with doctors and counselors, with a focus on trauma-informed, client-centered care in a substance use and co-occurring mental health

Qualifications

• RN license valid in Florida.
• CPR certification required.
• Several years of experience in a substance abuse or psychiatric setting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and must be available to work weekends and have schedule flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Ensure infection control practices and reporting procedures are in place.
• Conduct urinalysis toxicology data analysis.
• Enter orders for all clients in the facility as instructed.
• Triage medical issues and perform thorough patient assessments.
• Document client symptoms and health-related complaints in the EMR.
• Maintain communication with scheduling coordinators and doctors.
• Lead HIV/Hepatitis and Nutrition groups and complete associated documentation.
• Attend all scheduled staff meetings.
• Maintain clear, written logs of client activities.
• Report significant questions, concerns, and complaints to counselors or administrative staff.
• Complete all required paperwork including medical logs, shift reports, and MORs.
• Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
• Assist in the medical training of BHTs as needed.
• Be available for overtime if required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.

Education & Licensure

• Registered Nurse (RN) credential in Florida is required.
• CPR certification required and must be maintained during employment.

• Strong communication skills required (verbal and written)
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts AND MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS/ FLEX
