Job summary

North Texas Rehabilitation Institute in Plano, TX, is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time role in an inpatient rehabilitation setting. You will assess patients, plan interventions, and coordinate care with physicians and therapists to prevent complications and restore function.

The ideal candidate will have an accredited RN program completion, current RN license, and CPR. ACLS is preferred; 1 year of acute care experience is desirable. Excellent teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of accredited RN program required.
  • Current state RN license required.
  • CPR certification current.
  • ACLS certification preferred in LTACH and Texas hospitals.
  • One year recent experience in acute care preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care to patients within assigned unit.
  • Perform patient assessments, planning, interventions, and evaluations.
  • Collaborate with physicians and Therapists to support recovery.
  • Integrate hospital mission and guiding principles into daily practice.

North Texas Rehabilitation Institute is a 48-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Plano, TX, serving the North Dallas region as part of the Ernest Health network. The hospital provides comprehensive rehabilitation for patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, orthopedic and trauma surgery, and other complex medical conditions, and is recognized as a CIHQ Center of Excellence in both Rehabilitation Services and Stroke Care. What you bring
  • A passion for providing patient care, strong clinical skills, and a strong collaborator with Physicians and Therapists.
  • Degree from an accredited Nursing Program.
  • Current State Registered Nurse License.
  • Current CPR
Required Skills
  • Successful completion of accredited Registered Nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree preferred.
  • Current state license as a Registered Nurse required.
  • Current CPR Certification required.
  • One (1) year recent experience preferred. Acute care setting preferred.
  • ACLS certification preferred in LTACH and Texas hospitals.
Additional Qualifications/Skills
  • Knowledge of and adherence to current nursing theory and practice, infection control, and wound care standards of practice.
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards to ensure adherence to all standards set forth by state and accrediting agencies of TJC and CMS.
  • Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures, and utilizes proper policies, procedures, and guidelines in caring for patients.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrates general computer skills including: data entry, word processing, email, and record management.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work closely and professionally with others.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients within assigned unit. The role is also responsible for patient assessments, planning, supervising, interventions, and evaluations designed to prevent complications of physical disability, restore optimal functioning, and help the patient adapt to an altered life style. Integrates the hospital’s mission and “Guiding Principles” into daily practice.
