Job summary

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, implements, coordinates and evaluates nursing care on a unit during shift.
• Receives report from previous shift and ensures pertinent information is communicated.
• Monitors residents’ behavior, symptoms and progress; discusses findings with Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse.
• Administers and documents medications per physician orders and DOH regulations.
• Performs treatments per physician orders and policies.
• Notifies Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse about medication changes as needed.
• Orders prescribed medications and coordinates with pharmacy to ensure accuracy of dosages.

• Orders prescribed medications, notifies pharmacy of discontinued medications: and ensures accuracy of medications and dosages when received from pharmacy.
