Job summary

Services for the UnderServed (S:US) is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Supportive Crisis Stabilization Center in New York. The RN will conduct medical assessments, document histories, and coordinate follow-up care under the Program Director’s guidance.

Schedule notes indicate evening and overnight shifts (Tuesday-Thursday 4pm-12am; Friday/Saturday 12am-8am) as part-time positions. The role requires RN licensure in NY and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Master’s in Nursing preferred, Bachelor’s required, with NYS RN license.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric disorders and chemical dependency preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) speaking preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Complete screening, assessments and care of every client seeking SCSC services (Adults/Youth/Children).
  • Evaluate withdrawal symptoms using established screening tools (if appropriate to Substance Use clients).
  • Coordinate delivery and reception of medications with pharmacy.
  • Document all medications received and coordinate management of the meds while client is at SCSC.
  • Observe self-administration of medications.
  • Monitor withdrawal symptoms during detoxification according to established protocols.
  • Refer for required medical services as appropriate (Internal & External).
  • Provide education and consultation to individual clients and/or groups on their health needs.
  • Assure clients’ compliance with prescribed medical regimen.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation on medical services rendered.
  • Complete all clinical documentation in EHR.
  • File all documents in the clients’ charts upon completion.
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies and coordinate replenishment with Office Manager.
