Job summary

St. Mary’s Hospital – Kankakee seeks an Emergency Department Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care on night shifts.

The nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients with urgent and emergent needs, coordinates with physicians and the care team, performs triage, administers medications and treatments, educates patients and families, and upholds safety, regulatory, and privacy standards in a fast-paced ED environment.

Qualifications

• RN licensure required or current compact state license.
• Experience providing care in an Emergency Department preferred.
• Ability to perform clinical assessments and plan patient care.
• Strong communication and teamwork with ED staff.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for ED patients.
• Coordinate with physicians and care team to deliver safe, evidence-based care.
• Perform triage, administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions.
