Job summary

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers in Lone Tree, Colorado, is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join our oncology team at the Skyridge Medical Center Campus. You will administer chemotherapy and supportive care, collaborate with physicians, and educate patients and families.

The ideal candidate is an RN with current licensure, BLS certification, and at least two years of nursing experience, preferably in oncology. We offer comprehensive benefits and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

  • RN licensed with current registration in practicing state.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Current BLS certification and continuing education requirements.
  • Minimum two years nursing experience; Oncology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administers chemotherapy, hydration and other medications under physician supervision.
  • Maintains knowledge of drug reimbursement procedures; completes chemotherapy charge forms.
  • Ensures pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms prior to administration of therapies.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of ambulatory infusion pump use and maintenance; documents pump usage.
  • Facilitates dose modifications by assessing patient, labs, protocol, and physician input.
  • Performs venipuncture, accesses ports and maintains central lines.
  • Documents nursing assessments and patient teaching in the chart.
  • Communicates interventions to the physician and triages patient calls.
  • Assesses patient/family needs and provides education materials.

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Registered Nurse in Lonetree (Skyridge Medical Center Campus).

Salary Range: $37.00-46.00

Nurses with OCN certification are eligible for OCN Incentive Pay after 90 days of employment or upon obtainment of certification.

Responsibilities
  • Administers chemotherapy, hydration and other medications under the direction and supervision of a physician.
  • Maintains knowledge of drug reimbursement procedures. Completes all chemotherapy charge forms.
  • Assures pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of ambulatory infusion pump use and maintenance, cleaning pumps after use, and proper documentation of pump usage.
  • Facilitates dose modification by assessing patient, assessing labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, including problems and symptom management.
  • Performs venipuncture, accesses implanted ports and maintains central lines catheter devices.
  • Administers all medications using correct medication product, dosage/amount, route, time and technique.
  • Displays appropriate technical skills for the administration of chemotherapy and medications to include, but not limited to, venipuncture, central line access and infusion devices, programs portable infusion pumps for continuous drug delivery, and provides instruction to the patient and/or caregiver in the use of the pump at home.
  • Documents nursing assessments, patient teaching and fluid and medication administration in the patient chart.
  • Communicates all pertinent information and any interventions to the physician.
  • Triages patient phone calls as needed and documents relevant information in the patient's chart.
  • Assesses patient/family needs and provides teaching and other instructional material
Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.

RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Must maintain continuing education requirements.

Minimum two years nursing experience required, oncology experience preferred.
