Job summary

AdventHealth in Kissimmee, FL is seeking a registered nurse to provide comprehensive patient care in a full‑time, night/weekend schedule. The role involves assessing physiological, psychological, and social factors, developing individualized care plans, administering medications, and educating patients and families.

Applicants must hold an RN license in Florida and be proficient in English. BLS certification is required, with preferred units listing additional certifications.

Qualifications

• RN license required and active in Florida.
• Associates of Nursing is required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications may be preferred depending on the unit.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients across physical, psychological, developmental, sociocultural and spiritual factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans; regularly evaluate and revise as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments safely per physician orders and protocols.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and self-care.
• Coordinate with medical staff to optimize patient care and communication.
• Maintain thorough documentation of patient information and outcomes.

Job Description

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.
