Job summary

• RN with clinical experience in a cancer or oncology setting.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Current Florida RN license and active licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, direct and indirect nursing care for oncology patients.
• Monitor patients undergoing radiation therapy and manage meds.
• Educate patients and families on radiation therapy and side effects.
• Coordinate patient care with physicians and care team.
• Administer injections per physician request and handle triage.
• Obtain genomic test orders and manage prior authorizations.

Position Overview

The Oncology Nurse role assumes the responsibility and accountability for providing safe and competent direct and indirect nursing care for ACC patients in accordance with established policies, standards, and practices. Also maintains the position of direct caregiver and patient educator.

Essential Job Functions

• General nursing care for assigned patients
• Monitoring of medical conditions of cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy
• Assessment of clinical needs & medication management
• Assistance with consultations with physicians regarding patient care
• Provision of patient & family education regarding radiation therapy and possible side effects of cancer treatment
• Assistance in patient assessment & intervention
• Management of patient navigation and follow up activities
• Accurate phone triage to the correct department for patients
• Administer injection per oncology physician request
• Respond to patients request in KAIKU portal and phone triage
• Responsible for all Genomic test orders
• Obtaining prior authorization for specialty medications

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) experience in a clinical setting
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Current Florida Registered Nursing License
