Job summary

University Medical Center of El Paso seeks a Registered Nurse for Women’s Services/Postpartum to deliver patient care using the nursing process. The role collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring safe, quality outcomes while considering patient age and cultural background.

The position requires TX RN license, CPR, and various certifications with timelines. A BSN is preferred if ADN is held. Night shifts and part-time schedule apply, within a hospital setting in El Paso.

Qualifications

  • RN in Texas with current license.
  • CPR certification required.
  • ACLS within 6 months for critical care, Labor and Delivery, Antepartum.
  • NPR training within 6 months for Mother/Baby, Well Baby Nursery, Labor and Delivery, Antepartum.
  • PALS within 6 months for Endoscopy, Emergency, Cath Lab/IR, OR, Recovery, ASU.
  • TNCC or ATCN within 1 year for Emergency, ICU, IMCU, Neuro ICU and Recovery.
  • ENPC within 1 year for Emergency department.
  • Bachelor degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred within 3 years if ADN held

Job description

  • Schedule - Shift - Hours Part Time - Nights - 7P-7A

Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Supports the organization vision and mission. Utilizes knowledge of patient''s age and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.

Required Experience:

A. Work Experience

Experience as a Registered Nurse preferred.

B. License/Registration/Certification:

  • Current Texas or compact RN license to practice in the State of Texas.
  • Current CPR training program required.
  • Current ACLS obtained within 6 months of being in the position for critical care, Labor and Delivery and Antepartum areas.
  • Current NPR training program obtained within 6 months of being in the position for the following areas: Mother/Baby, Well Baby Nursery, Labor and Delivery, and Antepartum.
  • Current PALS training program obtained within 6 months of being in the position for the following areas: Endoscopy, Emergency, Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology, Operating Room, Recovery and Ambulatory Surgical Unit.
  • TNCC or ATCN obtained within 1 year of being in the position for the following areas: Emergency, ICU, IMCU, Neuro ICU and Recovery.
  • ENPC obtained within 1 year of being in the position for Emergency department.

C. Education and Training

Bachelor degree in Nursing required. May consider ADN, but must obtain BSN within three years of date of hire.
