Job summary

Community Options, Inc. is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse in Dallas, TX to deliver clinical care to individuals with disabilities in a community setting.

The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, collaborating with individuals, families, and health team members while upholding professional nursing standards. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in nursing field.
  • Valid R.N. license.
  • Minimum of one year of experience providing nursing services to individuals with disabilities.
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Complete all state and agency required training per state guidelines.
  • Ability to calculate figures related to medication dosages.
  • Understanding and commitment to community-based support for persons with disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide treatment and health care procedures ordered by a physician and required by the standards of professional practice or law.
  • Ensure individuals attend medical appointments per their ISP.
  • Advise supervisor of all concerns and issues related to the provision of nursing services.
  • Create and distribute medical/health reports detailing general health, health care goals, and physician recommendations.
  • Conduct programmatic trainings including medication administration and delegation.
  • Develop and update ISP/PCP with an interdisciplinary team and document concerns, observations, and progress.
  • Train employees on the medical needs of assigned individuals.
  • Monitor health and medical conditions and refer for medical services as needed.
  • Monitor the use of medications through medication administration logs.
  • Ensure health service supplies are available and replenished.
  • Ensure program documentation and billable records are completed accurately and timely.
  • Build a support network with community members, businesses, and families.
  • Participate in community, social, and recreational activities.
  • Participate in circles of support for personal futures planning.
  • Follow OSHA procedures regarding blood borne pathogens.
  • Cooperate with licensee and staff during inspections.

We are in search of aFull-Time Registered NurseinDallas, TXto deliver care to individuals with disabilities in a community setting, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning intervention, implementation, and evaluation. The Registered Nurse delivers care to individuals with disabilities in a community setting utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. This person will interact with individuals, significant others, and health team members while maintaining the standards of professional nursing.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in nursing field
  • Minimum of one year of experience providing nursing services to individuals with disabilities
  • Valid R.N. license
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Complete all state and agency required training per state guidelines
  • Ability to calculate figures related to medication dosages
  • Understanding and commitment to community-based support for persons with disabilities
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations
  • Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with an individual receiving supports
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively present facts and recommendations
  • Ability to effectively communicate with program participants, third-party agencies, staff and members of the community
