Role Description

The Registered Nurse at Syracuse Endoscopy Associates provides direct nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures in an outpatient setting. Day-to-day responsibilities include pre-procedure assessment, patient education, and preparation for sedation and procedures, as well as intra-procedure monitoring and post-procedure recovery care. The nurse collaborates closely with gastroenterologists, anesthesia professionals, and other clinical staff to support safe, efficient workflows and high-quality outcomes. Duties also include accurate documentation, adherence to infection control and safety protocols, and participation in quality improvement activities. This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Syracuse-Auburn Area.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• Clinical experience in endoscopy, gastroenterology, perioperative, or ambulatory surgery settings, with strong skills in patient assessment and monitoring.
• Knowledge of infection control standards, safety procedures, and best practices for outpatient procedural care.
• Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple patients and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfort with electronic health records (EHR) and accurate clinical documentation.
• Commitment to patient-centered care, teamwork, and continuous quality improvement.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; relevant specialty certifications in gastroenterology or endoscopy nursing are a plus.
