Job summary

Avante Care Management in Niagara Falls, NY is seeking an experienced RN Staff Nurse to join our new nursing team on 7a-7p and 7p-7a shifts. You will work closely with the Shift Supervisor, Head Nurse, and Resident Care Coordinator to deliver high-quality care to residents.

The role requires a NYS RN license, graduation from an accredited RN program, and strong communication and documentation skills. Prior long-term care experience, supervisory abilities, and adherence to safety policies are

Qualifications

• RN license in New York is required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing.
• Successful completion of facility orientation and inservice programs.
• Previous long-term care experience is preferred; supervisory experience is a plus.
• Must pass health assessment including two-stage Mantoux skin test.
• In good standing as confirmed by the NYS Department of Professional Credentialing.
• Excellent documentation and leadership skills are expected.
• Able to communicate in English, verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in accordance with facility policies to ensure resident safety and well-being.
• Care for residents with therapeutic, neurodegenerative, dementia, dialysis, IV therapy, infectious disease and wound care needs.
• Attend all mandatory inservices by the anniversary date.
• Maintain and update NY State license in compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with Shift Supervisor, Head Nurse and Resident Care Coordinator as part of the interdisciplinary team.
• Adjust to unit/shift changes to meet resident and facility needs.

Job description

Looking for dedicated RN cart nurse for our long term care and rehab facility. We are building a new Nursing team! 7a-7p/7p-7a.

The RN Staff Nurse works closely with the Shift Supervisor, Head Nurse or Resident Care Coordinator to ensure the best possible functions of the assigned unit.

The RN Staff Nurse will maintain the standards of Nursing Care and practices within the facility to meet the physical, psychosocial, and rehabilitative needs of residents.

Job Knowledge and Role Responsibilities:

• 1.Demonstrates knowledge of age specific developmental factors specific to adult and geriatric residents (i.e. physical, cognitive, and socialization factors) in planning delivery of care.
• 2.Demonstrates knowledge, skills, and techniques necessary to care for residents with the following needs: therapeutic, neuro and dementia, dialysis, IV therapy, infectious disease and wound care, if applicable.
• 3.Provides nursing care in accordance with Resident Care Policies and Procedures and ensures the safety and well-being of the residents is maintained.
• 4.Attends all mandatory inservices by employee’s anniversary date.
• 5.Maintains and updates New York State license in compliance with New York State regulations.
• 6.Acts appropriately under the direction of the Shift Supervisor, Head Nurse or Resident Care Coordinator and acts as an active member of the interdisciplinary team.
• 7.Demonstrates ability to adjust to changes in units/shift assignments to meet resident and facility needs.

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

• 1.Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York required.
• 2.Is a graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing.
• 3.Successfully completes facility conducted orientation, mandatory training and inservice programs.
• 4.Previous long term care experience is required.Supervisory experience and organizational skills in a long term care setting preferred.
• 5.Must meet health assessment requirements, including two stage Mantoux skin test.
• 6.Is listed in good standing as confirmed on the New York State Department of Professional Credentialing.
• 7.Possesses excellent technical assessment and documentation skills, and leadership quantities.
• 8.Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• 9.Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.
• 10.Successful completion of facility conducted orientation on specialized dementia units, as appropriate.
