Job summary

Wellpath seeks a Registered Nurse for the KY DOC Northpoint Train facility to provide direct patient care during the night shift. You will follow the nursing process, collaborate with the Charge Nurse, and deliver compassionate care in a fast-paced correctional setting.

You will be responsible for medication administration, education, documentation, and adherence to policies, while ensuring safe, effective patient outcomes through strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Must have current RN licensure and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in assessing and planning individual treatment programs, collaborating with Charge Nurse and staff.
  • Administer medications, obtain diagnostic tests, and assist with minor procedures.
  • Count controlled substances and ensure compliance with policies and protocols.
  • Document nursing encounters using SOAP charting and attend mandatory trainings.
  • Communicate information to nursing staff, physicians, and supervisory personnel as needed.

How you make a difference

As a Registered Nurse(RN), your primary responsibilityis toprovidepatient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning,implementation,and evaluation.You will work under the supervision of Charge Nurse(s) to provide patient education and activities in accordance with your competencies and education.This role requires excellent communication and critical thinking skills to ensureoptimalpatient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assistin assessing and planning individual treatment programs, consulting with Charge Nurse(s) and otherstaffas necessary.
  • Implement medical plans by administering medications, obtaining diagnostic tests, andassistingwith medical or minor surgical procedures as needed.
  • Count controlled substances and implement clinical and technical aspects of carein accordance withestablished policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Document nursing encounters using the SOAP form of charting as required by policy and attend mandatory staff meetings and training.
  • Communicate information to nursing staff, physician, health care unit supervisory personnel or otherstaffas necessary.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Experience
  • Prefer a minimum of one (1) year clinic experience
Licenses/Certifications
  • Have and maintain current licensure as a Registered Nurse within the state of employment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification.
