Job summary

Vision Innovation Partners seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at an ambulatory surgery center. The RN provides skilled perioperative care across pre-op, intra-op, and PACU, upholding safety and quality standards.

You will perform comprehensive pre-op assessments, act as circulating nurse, administer medications, and collaborate with anesthesia. AHA BCLS, ACLS, and PALS are required; ophthalmology OR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' operating room experience, preferably ophthalmology.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment.
• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Valid BCLS, ACLS & PALS certification required upon employment (Must be through American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

• Pre-operative assessments, verifies consents, H&P, orders, and time-out procedures.
• Functions as the circulating nurse, coordinating room activities and assisting surgeon/anesthesia.
• Prepares and administers medications safely per physician orders.
• Collaborates with anesthesia during induction and emergencies; responds to changes in patient condition.
• Provides PACU care including airway management, vitals monitoring, pain control, and recovery.
• Ensures complete documentation throughout all phases of care.
• Communicates hand-off reports during transitions between pre-op, OR, and PACU.
• Follows safety protocols to promote patient and staff safety.
• Performs nursing duties as assigned.

Registered Nurse (RN)

The RN is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The RN should possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas and be an advocate for patients with strong communication skills and critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• The Peri-Operative Registered Nurse provides safe, high-quality nursing care across the surgical continuum in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), including pre-operative, intra-operative circulating, and post-anesthesia (PACU) phases, in accordance with AORN, ASPAN, and applicable regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive pre-operative patient assessments, verifies consents, H&P, orders, and completes time-out procedures per policy
• Functions as the circulating nurse during surgical procedures, coordinating room activities and anticipating surgeon and anesthesia needs
• Prepares and administers medications safely and accurately in accordance with established standards and physician orders
• Collaborates with anesthesia during induction and emergencies; responds appropriately to changes in patient condition or emergencies
• Provides PACU care including airway management, monitoring vital signs, pain control, and recovery from anesthesia
• Ensures accurate, complete documentation throughout all phases of care
• Communicates effective hand-off reports during transitions between pre-op, OR, and PACU
• Utilizes appropriate body mechanics and follows safety protocols to promote patient and staff safety
• Performs nursing duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in an operating room setting; preferably in ophthalmology.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment or appropriate compact licensure.
• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Valid BCLS, ACLS & PALS Certifications required upon employment (Must be through American Heart Association, online certification not acceptable).

$36.00 - $43.00 an hour

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as, but not limited to full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility, annual educational reimbursement, and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO).
