Job summary

Regency Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital located inside Freeman Hospital in Springdale, Arkansas. We are seeking a Registered Dietitian to deliver high‑quality medical nutrition therapies, perform nutritional assessments, and collaborate with the medical staff to ensure diet plans meet care standards.

  • Current state licensure/certification, if required by state.
  • Current registration by the Commission on Dietetics Registration.
  • One year of work experience in a facility setting with clinical responsibilities or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality nutritional care to patients, including development, implementation and monitoring of medical nutrition therapies.
  • Collaborate with medical staff, patients, families and the food service department to ensure nutrition care plans are implemented and standards maintained.
  • Perform nutritional assessments and re-assessments, identifying goals, recommending nutrition interventions and monitoring patient progress.
  • Develop and monitor enteral and/or parenteral nutrition support regimens.
  • Attend interdisciplinary team meetings and communicate progress and special needs.
  • Participate in developing, planning and standardizing menus.
  • Perform meal rounds to ensure meals align with prescribed diets and meet quality standards.

  • Collaborate with medical staff, patients, families, and the food service department to ensure nutrition care plans are implemented and departmental standards are maintained.
  • Perform nutritional assessments and re‑assessments, identifying goals, recommending nutrition interventions, monitoring and evaluating patient progress.
  • Develop and monitor enteral and/or parenteral nutrition support regimens.
  • Work closely with the Speech Therapy Department to assist with the progression of textured modified diets, ensuring patient safety and optimizing oral intake.
  • Clarify admission orders to ensure nutrition support, diet and oral supplement orders are consistent with the facility’s established nutrition support formulary and diet manual.
  • Consider religious, cultural and ethnic factors in the development of nutrition care plans.
  • Review yearly updates and approve the therapeutic diet manual annually; educate clinical and food service staff on the location of the Nutrition Care Manual; maintain a hard copy of the simplified diet manual for downtime.
  • Keep current with nutritional practices and theories; maintain current professional registration requirements (Professional Portfolio, self‑development and continuing education). Demonstrate interest in continuing education, academics or specialized certification to further enhance professional skills.
  • Evaluate potential food/drug interactions, or herb/supplement interactions.
  • Attend interdisciplinary team meetings and communicate progress and special needs.
  • Participate in developing, planning and standardizing menus.
  • Perform meal rounds to ensure patients’ meal trays are consistent with the prescribed diet and meet standards of quality, quantity, temperature and appearance.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current state licensure/certification, if required by state.
  • Current registration by the Commission on Dietetics Registration.
  • One year of work experience in a facility setting with clinical responsibilities or equivalent.
