Banner University Medical Center Tucson is seeking a Registered Dietitian to provide pediatric nutrition care for our pediatric population, including PICU and NICU considerations. The role emphasizes growth assessment, nutrition support planning, and education for families and care teams.
Ideal candidates have pediatric RD experience; Master’s degree is preferred and Arizona fingerprint clearance is required by some Banner Health facilities. The position is full-time with some weekend rotations.

As our Registered Dietitian at Banner University Medical Center Tucson, you will provide nutritional care and recommendations specifically to our Pediatric population including Peds ICU and Neonatal ICU. A minimum of 1 year of work experience as an RD on a pediatric unit doing pediatric consults strongly preferred.
Responsibilities include assessing general pediatric patients, estimating needs for failure to thrive, catch-up growth, decreased muscle tone populations, charting growth charts, and calculating powder formula recipes. PICU and NICU experience is not necessary but a bonus skill set.
This position is full time 40 hours per week and will include some weekend rotations.
Must possess knowledge of nutrition and dietetics demonstrated through the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or equivalent coursework. Must be a Registered Dietitian or RD Eligible based on academic and professional requirements as defined by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Effective January 1, 2024 CDR requires a minimum of a Master’s degree to be eligible to take the registration examination. Must possess RD credentials within 6 months of hire. Must hold current registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration of The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and be able to maintain ongoing registration verification of registration annually. Maintains current licensure as required by State law.
Must be able to communicate effectively and function independently. Must be effective at prioritizing assigned patient case load.
Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, and BUMG, BUMCT, or BUMCS in a Behavioral Health clinical setting that serves children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire.
