Job summary

Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Tampa seeks a Registered Dietitian or RD-eligible professional to lead nutrition care for residents in a Florida facility. You will perform annual, quarterly and significant-change reviews, counsel residents, and coordinate nutrition services with the Dietary Supervisor.

Responsibilities include supervising dietary staff, ensuring compliance with safety standards and collaborating with physicians to tailor diet plans.

Qualifications

• RD eligible and/or registered dietitian with eligibility for the RD exam.
• Bachelor degree in Food and Nutrition or closely related field.
• Clinical nutrition experience or internship preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete nutritional reviews on residents quarterly, annually, and on significant changes.
• Coordinate nutrition care services with Dietary Supervisor.
• Prepare and present nutritional plans and counseling as needed.
• Monitor food services for safety, sanitation and regulatory compliance.

$45-50Job DescriptionGeneral PurposeComplete nutritional initial, quarterly, annual and significant change reviews on residents according to federal and stateguidelines. Assist in coordination of nutrition care services with Dietary Supervisor. Complete nutritional reviews monthlyon high risk residents (significant weight loss/gain, pressure ulcer, hemodialysis, and tube fed).Essential Duties• Ability to meet all health, compliance, and competency requirements.• Attends and participates in morning meetings/stand up to facilitate communications with the team.• Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions and current health plans in order to develop and implement dietary careplans and provides nutritional counseling as needed.• Monitor food services operations to ensure conformance to nutritional, safety, sanitation and quality standards, aswell as state and federal regulations.• Monitor food control systems such as food temperatures, portion control, preparation methods, garnishment andpresentation of food in order to ensure that food is prepared and presented in an acceptable manner.• Inspect diet trays for conformance to physician’s diet orders prior to delivery.• Consult with physicians and other health care personnel (Dialysis Dietitians, Nurse Practitioners, etc.) todetermine diet restrictions and nutritional needs of residents.• Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with patients/residents, families, staff and professionalcolleagues.Supervisory RequirementsAssists with the overall supervision and management of the dietary staff.QualificationEducation and/or ExperienceRegistered Dietitian or completion of approved Bachelor Degree with majorstudies in Food and Nutrition and eligible for the RD Exam.Preferable one-year experience in a clinical health care setting or completionof an accredited internship.Language SkillsAbility to read technical procedures. Ability to read and comprehend policyand procedure manuals.
