Job summary

God’s Love We Deliver is seeking a part-time Registered Dietitian Nutritionist to join our nutrition team in New York. You will assess nutritional status, develop care plans, provide ongoing counseling, and guide interns as part of collaborative patient-centered care.

Requirements include an MS in Nutrition Science, active RDN credential, 3–5 years of related experience, and strong communication skills; Spanish bilingual is a plus, with proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• MS in Nutrition Science with emphasis on community nutrition, public health and/or nutrition education.
• RDN – maintenance of current registration.
• 3–5 years’ related experience in nutrition/dietetics.
• Experience supporting clients throughout the lifecycle.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Assess nutritional status and develop comprehensive nutrition care plans for clients with a range of severe illnesses.
• Provide ongoing nutrition counseling and education to clients and caregivers affected by life-altering illnesses.
• Plan and track dietary modifications to relieve specific nutrition-related symptoms associated with illnesses, prescription drugs, and food intake requirements and restrictions.
• Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders regarding client care.
• Help guide interns in learning how to support clients living with severe illness.

God’s Love We Deliver, a nonsectarian organization, is the New York metropolitan area’s leading provider of life-sustaining meals and nutrition counseling for people living with severe illnesses. Begun as an HIV/AIDS service organization, God’s Love provides for people living with more than 200 individual diagnoses. God’s Love cooks and home delivers the specific, nutritious meals a client’s severe illness and treatment so urgently require. Meals are individually tailored for each client by one of our Registered Dietitians, and all clients have access to unlimited nutrition counseling. God’s Love supports families by providing meals for the children and senior caregivers of our clients. All of our services are provided at no cost to our clients.

Responsibilities:

• Provide on-going nutrition counseling and education to clients and caregivers affected by life-altering illnesses.
• Plan and track dietary modifications to relieve specific nutrition-related symptoms associated with illnesses, prescription drugs, and food intake requirements and restrictions.
• Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders regarding client care.
• Help guide interns in learning how to support clients living with severe illness.

About You:

You are highly self-motivated and empathetic, with a strong desire to provide support to clients living with a serious illness. You are looking for a collaborative, team-oriented environment, and you are energized by providing nutrition education to clients with varied medical conditions.

Requirements:

• MS in Nutrition Science with an emphasis on community nutrition, public health and/or nutrition education.
• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) – maintenance of current registration required.
• A minimum of three to five years’ related experience in the field of nutrition or dietetics.
• Experience supporting clients throughout the lifecycle.
• Language Skills – Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
• Must be able to operate effectively as part of a team and independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
