Position Description:

Food Safety/Sanitation/Standards
  • Monitor and inspect ACP Community Table meal sites, caterers’ kitchens, and programs producing their own food as dictated by local, state, and federal food safety standards and sanitation requirements.
  • Monitor temperature logs provided by the caterer for HDM test meals and Community Table meal sites as needed.
Menu Planning/Maintaining Nutrition Standards
  • Collaborate with caterer on menu development for 8-week seasonal cycles, utilizing Computrition to ensure that all meals meet federal and state Nutrition Standards and that all recipes are up to date and accurate, and to provide the nutritional analysis per meal served on the monthly menus. Create therapeutic and ethnic menus for home-delivered meal participants, using current medical nutrition therapy guidelines. Ensure accurate, timely completion of submissions to AGE.
  • Coordinates with the caterer and ensures the maximum usage of USDA commodities in menu planning and menu substitutions as needed.
Quality Control
  • Monitor quality, portioning and ingredients of all meals to maintain compliance with Nutrition Standards.
  • Participate and contribute to the Nutrition Department’s quality improvement goals and projects.
Nutrition Education
  • Provide, assess, and evaluate nutrition education initiatives at Community Table meal sites and other community venues, as well as information for distribution to home delivered meal participants, as dictated by state Nutrition Standards. Submit lesson plans, handouts, and evaluation tools to AGE as required/requested.
  • In collaboration with Nutrition Program leadership, plan and deliver ACP staff training regarding nutrition education and food safety practices including annual Program Spotlight Providing support and consultation at relevant in-service days, staff meetings, and community-based evidence-based programs as needed. Provide sanitation and food allergen training as needed to maintain certification for vendor staff at Community Table Sites.
Nutrition Counseling
  • Work with internal program staff as well as interested and/or contracted payors to expand and provide nutrition consultations to members as defined by program criteria and/or contractual obligations, including but not limited to ACP Title III, Home Care and SCO consumers as well as individuals served through external referrals (i.e. FBWM/HRSN)
  • Complete tasks and responsibilities related to nutrition counseling programming including but not limited to attending and contributing to planning meetings, monitoring nutritional content of HRSN food boxes and meals, and communicating as needed with community partners.
Outreach
  • Work with Marketing Team to provide subject matter expertise and content in the development of campaigns and materials to promote nutrition education and programming, as well as special projects, such as National Nutrition Month or the Farmer's Market Nutrition Program
  • Participate in and contribute to collaborative projects with community partners on nutrition education and other initiatives to increase food security and access and cultural meal options.
Miscellaneous
  • Produce, review, and submit all necessary written and verbal documentation, such as for nutritional analysis reports. Ensure accurate, timely completion of assignments.
  • Participate in and/or attend required state and local meetings, seminars and workshops pertaining to nutrition-related activities.
  • Assume special projects and additional responsibilities as designated by the Nutrition Director and/or as required for the smooth operation of the Nutrition Program including delivering meals when necessary.
  • Participate and contribute to RFP process to select a caterer by providing guidance and consultation on menu development and sanitation/food safety.
  • Complete application processes for permits and waivers required by municipalities for the ongoing operation of Community Table sites.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Human Nutrition or a related field.
  • Massachusetts Licensed Dietitian (required).
  • Registered Dietitian (required).
  • ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain certification within 2 months of hire.
  • Minimum of 0–2 years of related work experience.
  • Experience in therapeutic nutrition, nutrition education, food service operations, and the nutritional needs of older adults.
Desired Qualifications
  • Ability and willingness to support the goals and policies of Access Care Partners and the ACP Nutrition Department.
  • Clerical skills including accurate written communication, spelling, formatting, typing, recordkeeping, and operation of office equipment.
  • Knowledge of the aging process as it relates to nutrition.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn federal and state laws and regulations regarding home and community-based services for older adults.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to learn and use multiple software platforms and database applications.
  • Willingness and ability to become familiar with program-related information, regulations, and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
