Job summary

TEEMA is seeking a Dietitian to provide nutrition services for patients at Big Spring State Hospital. The role includes nutrition assessments, consultations, education, and other services as assigned.

You will analyze health status, dietary restrictions, and progress, consult with patients, families, and the treatment team, document in EMR, and ensure compliance with HHSC and accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• BS in Dietetics or Nutrition from an accredited college/university.
• Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD) with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
• Must be licensed Dietitian (LD) in the State of Texas.
• Must possess excellent verbal and written skills necessary to communicate with Physicians, staff, patients, and patients’ families.
• Must comply with HHSC immunization requirements and drug testing/fingerprinting/training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutrition services for Big Spring State Hospital patients.
• Complete nutritional assessments, provide consultations, education, and other nutritional services as assigned.
• Analyze patients’ health status, goals, dietary restrictions, and track dietary intake and progress.
• Consult with patients, families, and the treatment team regarding nutrition needs.
• Complete electronic medical record documentation.
• Provide nutrition information to the Food Service Director/Managers.
• Comply with facility SOPs to meet standards for accreditation agencies (Joint Commission, CMS, HHSC).
