Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Registered Dietitian to provide basic nutrition assessments and care planning for patients and residents, supporting the hospital mission and values.

The role includes directing dietary care, educating staff and families, promoting nutrition programs, and collaborating with culinary and clinical teams. Compliance with regulations and continuous learning are essential to deliver quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist within 60 days of entering position.
• PC skills and applicable software knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Directs dietary care of patients with basic nutrition needs including screening, assessment and care planning.
• Educates medical staff and counsels patients and families on proper nutritional care.
• Promotes and manages food and nutrition programs according to standards and policies.
• Collaborates with culinary and clinical departments on nutrition care, diets and menu requests.
• Stays current with nutrition trends, research and standards of practice.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations and hospital policies.
• Establishes operating standards and communicates improvements to other departments.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsible for providing basic nutrition assessments and care planning for patients and residents. Implements business practices in order to uphold hospital mission and values.

A day in the life of a Registered Dietitian at Hackensack Meridian Health includes

• Directs dietary care of patients with basic nutrition needs including screening, assessment and care planning to ensure patient dietary needs and patient satisfaction levels are met.
• Educates medical staff and counsels` patients and their families on proper nutritional care.
• Manages and promotes food and nutrition programs according to Hackensack Meridian Health standards and policies.
• Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, nutrition care, special diets and menu requests.
• Stays current with most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications and standards of practice.
• Probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues.
• Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Hackensack Meridian Health policies and procedures (e.g. HIPAA/Privacy Act, quality assurance, safety, operations, personnel).
• Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments.
• Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
• Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• Bachelors degree.
• Entry level experience.
• PC skills and its applicable applications.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred

• Acute care clinical or related experience.

Licenses and Certifications Required

• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist within 60 days of entering position.

Minimum rate of $69,534.40 Annually
