Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD) or a RDE (eligbile)
• Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics
• Knowledge of applicable state and federal guidelines

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor residents' nutritional status and develop care plans
• Evaluate nutrition needs related to weight, skin breakdown, and dietary support
• Coordinate procurement of nutrition supplies and oral supplements with vendors and department heads
• Monitor meal service to ensure diet modifications are followed
• Educate residents, families, and staff on nutrition and diet modification
• Routinely evaluate dietary care plans for effectiveness
• Attend weekly interdisciplinary team meetings to review care plans
• Collaborate with Speech-Language Pathologist on dysphagia diets
• Review menu changes for policy and regulatory compliance
• Audit areas related to quality nutrition care regularly
• Ensure compliance with weight monitoring regulations
• Communicate daily with the interdisciplinary team to provide quality care
