Intermountain Health is seeking a Clinical Dietitian/Registered Dietitian to join our acute care hospital team in Billings, MT. This full-time role offers mentorship, hands-on nutrition support experience, and a clear path to Clinical Dietitian Specialist with structured training.

The position includes a $2,500 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance where applicable, with a typical day shift and limited weekend rotation. Open to RD/RDNs with growth potential in a collaborative hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian must be credentialed or pass exam within 6 months of hire if eligible.
• For registration-eligible grads after Jan 1, 2024, completion of a master’s degree is required.
• Completion of an ACEND accredited program (DID, internship, coordinated or grad-level).
• State licensure/certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Experience in clinical dietetics is preferred.

Job Description

The Registered Dietitian Specialist facilitates the nutrition care process in specialty care areas or specialized populations with a moderate degree of autonomy, using experience-based knowledge, nutrition assessment, and diagnostic reasoning skills and competencies. Join Intermountain Health in Billings, MT as a Clinical Dietitian / Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) in a full-time acute care hospital role. Compensation & Schedule

• Competitive pay based on experience:
• Clinical Dietitian Pay Range: $29.14 - 44.94/hr
• Clinical Dietitian Specialist Pay Range: $32.02 - 49.44/hr
• Full-time Day shift schedule (Monday–Friday) in acute care hospital setting
• Minimal weekend requirement (~1 weekend per month)
• $5,000 sign‑on bonus OR relocation assistance, if applicable

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) as a Clinical Dietitian (RD/RDN) to patients in acute care and specialized populations
• Apply the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) to assess, diagnose, and manage complex nutrition needs in a hospital setting
• Provide advanced nutrition counseling to support behavior change and improve patient outcomes
• Utilize clinical nutrition tools and technology (indirect calorimetry, nutrient analysis software, glucometers) to develop personalized care plans
• Support and mentor dietetic interns, new graduate dietitians, and clinical nutrition staff
• Implement evidence-based nutrition practices in collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Manage nutrition care across the continuum, including discharge planning and durable medical equipment (DME) ordering
• Independently write and manage nutrition-related orders within scope of practice as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)

Qualifications (Registered Dietitian- Clinical)

• Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or registration eligible. If hired in registration eligible status, employee must successfully pass the Registered Dietitian credentialing exam within 6 months of hire to remain in the job.

• Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply evidence‑based research to clinical practice.
• 2 or more years of dietetics experience in a clinical setting, preferred.
• Experience in managing patients in a specialty area, preferred.
• Relevant dietetics‑related specialty practice credential (CNSC, CSP, CDCES, CSO, CSR, CSOWM, etc.), preferred
