Job summary

Cura Hospitality seeks an experienced registered dietitian to join our healthcare team in Pittsburgh. You will assess nutritional needs of patients/residents, initiate interventions to maintain nutritional status, and enhance quality of life aligned with patient goals.

Responsibilities include educating the care team and patients, adhering to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics standards, collaborating across departments, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Passed CDR exam or eligible per Academy guidelines.
• Completes 75 hours CE every five years.
• Licensed or certified per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulation standards for assessments and care planning.
• Ability to teach nutrition and dietetics.
• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or related field (nice-to-have).
• Experience in healthcare or long-term care (nice-to-have).

The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add an experienced registered dietitian to our healthcare team in Pittsburgh. As a registered dietitian, you will have the opportunity to identify and assess the nutritional needs of assigned patients/residents, initiate interventions to achieve and/or maintain individuals nutritional status, and enhance quality of life consistent with patient’s/resident’s goals.

What you'll be doing:

• Providing nutritional expertise to the health care team and educating patients/residents, staff, or consultants.
• Following the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ standards of practice and facility regulatory requirements.
• Interacting with other departments in setting up procedures and policies, and in problem solving as it relates to dining service and nutrition.
• Actively participating in the development, review, and revision of continuous quality improvement programs.

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

• Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or meets the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements for eligibility.
• Completes 75 hours of continuing education hours every five years, in accordance with the CDR, utilizing the professional portfolio development process.
• Licensed or certified, per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulation standards specific to comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.
• Ability to teach others, specifically pertaining to nutrition and dietetics.

Nice-to-haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or related field.
• Experience working in healthcare or long-term care.
