Job summary

Redwood Cove Healthcare Center is seeking a Registered Dietitian to complete nutritional assessments and oversee dietary care plans for residents in accordance with federal and state guidelines.

The role collaborates with the Dietary Supervisor to coordinate nutrition care, monitor food services for safety and quality, and provide counseling on diet restrictions as needed. Strong communication with physicians, nurses, and residents is essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold RD credentials and be eligible to practice in California.
• Ability to assess nutritional needs and develop dietary care plans.
• Experience collaborating with physicians, nurses, and dietary staff.

Responsibilities

• Complete nutritional initial, quarterly, annual and significant change reviews on residents.
• Assess nutritional needs and develop dietary care plans with counseling as needed.
• Monitor food services to ensure safety, sanitation, and quality standards.
• Inspect diet trays for conformance to physician orders and presentable meals.
• Consult with physicians and dialysis/nursing staff to determine diet restrictions.
• Attend meetings and communicate effectively with the care team.

Registered Dietitian (Healthcare)

Complete nutritional initial, quarterly, annual and significant change reviews on residents according to federal and state guidelines. Assist in coordination of nutrition care services with Dietary Supervisor. Complete nutritional reviews monthly on high risk residents (significant weight loss/gain, pressure ulcer, hemodialysis, and tube fed).

• Ability to meet all health, compliance, and competency requirements.
• Attends and participates in morning meetings/stand up to facilitate communications with the team.
• Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions and current health plans in order to develop and implement dietary care plans and provides nutritional counseling as needed.
• Monitor food services operations to ensure conformance to nutritional, safety, sanitation and quality standards, as well as state and federal regulations.
• Monitor food control systems such as food temperatures, portion control, preparation methods, garnishment and presentation of food in order to ensure that food is prepared and presented in an acceptable manner.
• Inspect diet trays for conformance to physician's diet orders prior to delivery.
• Consult with physicians and other health care personnel (Dialysis Dietitians, Nurse Practitioners, etc.) to determine diet restrictions and nutritional needs of residents.
• Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with patients/residents, families, staff and professional colleagues.
