Elior North America is hiring a Registered Dietitian to join the healthcare team at John J. Kane communities in Pittsburgh. You will assess nutritional needs, implement interventions, and help maintain residents’ nutritional status to improve quality of life.

Responsibilities include collaborating with the health care team, adhering to practice standards, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives. Licensure and CDR/equivalency are required or in progress.

Qualifications

• Passed a national examination by the CDR or eligible per Academy requirements.
• Completes 75 hours of continuing education every five years.
• Licensed or certified per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulation standards for assessments, care planning, and residents' rights.
• Ability to teach others about nutrition and dietetics.
• Nice-to-have: healthcare or long-term care experience.

The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add an experienced registered dietitian to our healthcare team in Pittsburgh. As a registered dietitian, you will have the opportunity to identify and assess the nutritional needs of assigned patients/residents, initiate interventions to achieve and/or maintain individuals nutritional status, and enhance quality of life consistent with patient’s/resident’s goals.

What you'll be doing:

• Providing nutritional expertise to the health care team and educating patients/residents, staff, or consultants.

• Following the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ standards of practice and facility regulatory requirements.

• Interacting with other departments in setting up procedures and policies, and in problem solving as it relates to dining service and nutrition.

• Actively participating in the development, review, and revision of continuous quality improvement programs.

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

• Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or meets the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements for eligibility.

• Completes 75 hours of continuing education hours every five years, in accordance with the CDR, utilizing the professional portfolio development process.

• Licensed or certified, per state requirements.

• Knowledge of regulation standards specific to comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.

• Ability to teach others, specifically pertaining to nutrition and dietetics.

Nice-to-haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or related field.

• Experience working in healthcare or long-term care.
