Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist to provide nutrition-focused assessments and care planning for patients. You will evaluate data, identify risks, and develop evidence-based interventions in collaboration with the care team.

You will supervise dietetic interns, support performance improvement initiatives, and ensure timely documentation in the electronic health record. A strong clinical background and RDN licensing are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Dietetics required.
• RDN license required or eligible.
• 4+ years clinical experience in dietetics preferred.
• Experience with EPIC EMR and nutrition care documentation.

Responsibilities

• Complete nutrition-focused assessments and develop care plans.
• Review medical records and calculate nutritional risk.
• Provide counseling and education to patients and families.
• Supervise dietetic interns and collaborate with care teams.
• Document orders and nutrition care in the EHR; support rounds.

Job Description:

Completes nutrition-focused physical assessments, takes measurements, reviews medical records, collects data via interviews, and evaluates anthropometric status. Evaluates assessment data to identify nutrition risks, nutrition problems, criteria consistent with malnutrition, knowledge deficits, and high-risk health behaviors. Offers nutrition interventions, orders, education, counseling, and referrals to other services. May place feeding tubes or perform indirect calorimetry studies. Provides counseling and education using evidence-based techniques that reflect appropriate health literacy and cultural sensitivity to patients with disease processes requiring nutritional management. Monitors and evaluates nutrition care plans to reach nutrition goals and promote optimal outcomes. Supervises practice experience for dietetic interns, dietetic technicians, registration eligible dietitians and new employees, participates in research, performance improvement, and initiatives. Enters complete, accurate, and timely electronic health record documentation. Enters nutrition orders when authorized by Medical Staff policy and procedure to reflect patient care. Participates in patient care rounds, collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals to create nutrition plans of care. Promotes evidence-based nutrition care and makes expertise available to foodservice areas. Provides timely responses to internal electronic communication. Other duties as assigned.
